So, this is probably the least technical recipe I’ll ever post so much so that there isn’t any measurements or specific ingredients as you can literally use anything. In this instance I’ve used ready brek with water and strawberries and apple as the fruit as it’s what Isla had left over from her snack this afternoon. To further prove easiness I made these on the coffee table with Isla as it’s pretty hard to go wrong which is why I love this recipe. It’s perfect to get toddlers interested in baking as they enjoy mixing and adding the fruit.
- 3 bananas (chopped)
- 2 tablespoons of poppy seeds
- 25g caster sugar*
- 200g wholemeal self-raising flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 pinch of salt
- Milk (we use soya but any milk can be used)
One of the biggest parts of the everyday in our house is food. I’m lucky in that Isla is a brilliant eater but with a good eater comes the struggle of having healthy homemade food and snacks ready five or six times per day. I’ve pretty much got it down to a tee now (took me long enough) and now don’t rely at all on convenience foods or toddler snacks. I thought it would be interesting to do a few examples on what Isla eats and I might include some recipes for the healthy snacks that her dad makes for her.
